Able

He is one of my keepers.

Am I a handful?

My brothers, I am hired under public labour,

  keeper to my brother’s programme.

Am I to pick up litter, my brothers?

Am I to tend the keeper?

Am I my brother’s weeds?

It is the keeper, the latest in my series.

The keeper of make my brothers work.

He has jobs. He has my brothers, held

  over the past decade.

He does not mind my brothers working hard.

My brothers, he says, I am but my brothers.

He resents being forced, my brothers.

I am to do a job with no purpose.

I am keeper of my brothers and with no future.

Am I my brother’s keeper?
